Perfrez® 9011C is a general use carbon black-filled material for the
manufacturing of o-rings and seals, gaskets and diaphragms and other custom
molded components for use in chemical process plants and equipment. Perfrez®
9011C offers distinct mechanical properties together with resistance to a
wide range of aggressive chemicals typically used in chemical processing.
Perfrez® 9011C is specially formulated and ideally suited for use under the
most demanding conditions found in production processes in chemical
processing facilities and hydrocarbon refineries, where sealing components
are subject to harsh chemical media, multiple chemical streams and elevated
temperatures.
Its enhanced thermal and chemical resistance characteristics makes it the
product of choice for the most demanding conditions encountered during
processes like steam cleaning and hot water flushes. Perfrez® 9011C remains
highly resilient throughout thermal cycles with short excursions to higher
temperatures possible during processes, while retaining its sealing
integrity and mechanical properties.
Widest Possible Range of Chemical Resistance
The versatility of Perfrez® 9011C makes it a standard compound for use in a
variety of applications where exposure to mixed chemical process streams,
hot water and steam, or process excursions to elevated temperatures are
expected. Perfrez® 9011C offers the widest resistance to a range of
aggressive chemicals that include organic and inorganic acids, alkalis,
amines, hot amines, water and steam, ketones, esters, ethers, aldehydes,
alcohols, hydrocarbons and lubricants.
In addition to its broad chemical resistance, Perfrez® 9011C is designed for
optimum performance up to a temperature threshold of 230 degrees C which is
compatible with the operating environments of most chemical plants and
hydrocarbon processing facilities. With a record of safety operating under
the most harsh conditions, Perfrez® 9011C is the standard choice for sealing
applications for the most demanding environments.
Low Volume Swell of Perfrez® 9011C
Volume swell of sealing components like o-rings and seals is a good
indication of chemical compatibility, and its measure takes into account
dimensional changes in all three dimensions. Volume swell can be thermal or
fluid induced. The proper and efficient operation of equipment can be
interrupted by volume swell, and equipment downtime as a result of seal
failure can happen due to excessive swell.
Low Compression Set with Excellent Thermal Resistance
Perfrez® 9011C offers outstanding heat resistance allowing a continuous
service temperature of up to 230 degrees C. As service temperatures approach the
upper design limits of a seal or an o-ring, the elastomer may undergo
chemical changes resulting in the breaking of the polymer structure or the
cross-linking of adjacent polymer molecules. Performance of the elastomer
becomes less predictable and seals become more rigid, resulting in a
reduction of compression set resistance. Perfrez® 9011C has a compression
set of 16.2% which is superior to competing products in the same class.
Applications
The end use of Perfrez® 9011C is in the form of o-rings, gaskets, seals and
custom-molded components for an extensive range of applications that are
commonly found in the oil and gas, petrochemicals, automotive and chemical
processing industries.
